~*~*~ Classical Music ~*~*~
I will be blogging through the alphabet with 26 different
composers. I wanted to include as many of my favorite pieces and composers as I
could, so my letter each day will be the composer’s first or last name,
or a title of one of their pieces. There were a couple letters I had to dig
for, but it has still been a fun process so far. Here’s what you can expect from
my posts: I will include a YouTube video of a piece of music from the featured
composer, and I have made an effort to find videos that are under 10 minutes
(which is not easy with classical music). I will also include some quick and
interesting facts about the composer, and in some cases, I may include a bonus
video or other content.
A musical joke, who gets it? |
I know
that many people find classical music to be boring or sleep-inducing, but I have
grown to appreciate it a lot more over the past few years and I hope to bring
out some of the more interesting pieces that I have come across. Classical music
can be inspiring, calming, mesmerizing, and, at times, exhilarating! Many of
the pieces could also be great background music for those of you going through
the A to Z posts each day! I am excited to share this fascination with you and
I hope that you have an enjoyable experience and maybe even learn something new.
Sounds good! I think of most of the composers of the past were alive today, their works would have a rock edge to them.
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right, Alex. I'm surprised at how many of them did adjust their work according to what others were doing.
DeleteClassical music is so diverse I can never understand people who dislike it unilaterally. Great theme. I look forward to seeing which composers and pieces you have chosen for each day.

Thanks Tasha! I don't understand those people either.
DeleteGreat theme! Looking forward to reading your posts about classical music. Hubby plays classical music on his guitar and it is so relaxing to listen to!
ReplyDeletebetty
Thanks Betty! I have heard some lovely guitar pieces on my local classical station.
DeleteThis is going to be so interesting and lovely to listen to!
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrea :)
DeleteOne of the gifts of my youth was being exposed to classical music. I'll see you in April for a theme that interest me. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stepheny, I was also exposed to classical music as a child, I remember my first set of Beethoven cassette tapes :)
DeleteHi, That promises to be an uplifting as well as educational theme. Music is always great to base the A-Z on. Good luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes.

Thank you, Nilanjana! Music does make a good theme :)
DeleteI like Classical music and would be very interested in your upcoming posts! My favorite is Vivaldi.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! Vivaldi will probably be making an appearance :)
DeleteI know zero about classical music, but I need to learn more! Great idea for a theme.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stephanie! I hope my posts will be educational :)
DeleteClassical music... that would be insightful and enlightening. Looking forward to know more about it! Cheers :)

I know nothing about classical music so it will be interesting learning a little about your favourite pieces :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Debbie, I definitely tried to include a lot of my favorites :)
DeleteSounds cool. I don't know much about classical music so it'll probably be an informative time.
ReplyDeleteLoni, I hope to make it informative, but I also hope it will be fun for those less familiar with classical music :)
DeleteGreat idea, very unique! Happy A to Z Challenge Reveal Day, I know I'm late, but honest that list is long. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll be following. http://yolandarenee.blogspot.com/
Thanks Yolanda! That list is long! And I have only had a few hours this week free from work and other obligations to go through it :( I hope I can get some caught up tonight.
DeleteClassical music is amazing, Beethovens Monlight Sonata sweeps along with such amazing speed towards the end. So looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteSpacerguy, the Moonlight Sonata is so beautiful! It was hard to narrow down the selections with some of these composers, like Beethoven, but it sure has been enjoyable to listen to my options :)
DeleteNo, I don't turn on the classical station in the car, I turn on the classics. LOL But it is still a great theme! I know there are classical pieces that I enjoy hearing. And depending on the piece, I can very much enjoy a full orchestra or a single grande piano wonderfully played. I just don't know enough about it, to pick out the pieces I like, to know them by name or even which composer. So, I'll be looking forward to seeing if any of your choices are to my liking and actually knowing the title and such. Revisit the Tender Years with me at

Barbara, I'm planning to use a little bit of variety in tone and instruments, so hopefully you'll find something you like :) And I look forward to your childhood tales!
DeleteOh, about the joke! I don't read music, but I am guessing someone wrote in rock n roll notes/beat on a classical score.
ReplyDeleteNot quite, good guess though! The red musical notes are actually a cell phone ringtone. It represents the cell phones that go off during a concert, which musicians are highly displeased with.
DeleteThere are certain pieces of classical music that I love, but I do listen to rock more than anything else. Good idea for a theme, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tamara!
DeleteI have come across lots of blogs related to music and movies and I would be interested to learn about the various composers about whom you are going to write as a part of the April posts. :)

Thank you! Music or movies make good themes because there is such a wide variety of genres and they are fun to put together :)
Deleteawesome
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteI like lots of classical music. Good luck with filling all your posts with composers!
ReplyDeleteJemima Pett
Thanks Jemima! Good luck to you as well!
DeleteHow wonderful! Good luck during the Challenge. Classical music is the only type I can listen to while writing. It soothes my mind and yet gets it working smoothly.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, I love to listen to classical music to calm down after work, and it has inspired me for writing, too :)
DeleteI've long enjoyed classical music, though I don't much about composers (except for the big names). This should be a treat and educational!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bish! I didn't know much about composers either, until I really started to listen to the hosts of my local classical station. They have so much knowledge and fun facts about the composers.
DeleteClassical music is a great theme. I don't listen to it much but I know there's so many different composers and symphonies out there. I'm not doing the Challenge this year but I'll try to stop by to see what sort of classical music you're sharing that I can add to my own playlists. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chrys! There is such a wide array of classical music, so I'm sure you will find something you like :)
