Blurry Week and A to Z Challenge

I must say that I have no idea where the last week went! Work has been exceptionally stressful with a constant stream of patients and new year insurance changes. The only day I had away from work since my last post was Sunday and I feel as though the entire week has completely escaped in a blur. I even fell asleep before 11:00pm one night, and that is early for this night owl. On top of that, I just announced my Wednesday postings because of having Tuesdays off to write and then a coworker needed to trade with me for Thursday this week. It’s almost ironic! But, I'm posting nonetheless.

I had a really great idea for today’s post on Tuesday morning and I was sorting out the details in my head on the way to work. The problem was that work came between my idea and getting home to write it out. I forgot some of my points and lost the direction I wanted to take with it, so I hope the rest of that idea will come back to me, but it’s not going to make it for this post. I guess as foolish as it may feel, I probably should start voicing my thoughts to my phone’s recorder.

Back to this month’s theme of goals: in the midst of the chaos, I managed to officially sign up for the Blogging From A to Z April Challenge. The list opened on Monday and I signed up at about 2:30pm CST and I was #251, and the last time I checked there were 377 blogs signed up! It amazes me how many people participate and the hosts do an amazing job at maintaining and promoting it. The challenge’s founder Arlee Bird had an excellent idea and even he probably never imagined it would get this big! I am excited about participating again, and I think I have finally settled on the theme I want to use this year. I had another theme in mind, but I came up with an idea I liked better earlier this month. I will have to do a little research for a few of those trouble letters, but I think this theme will work well and I will reveal it in March. I am leaving you with a few verses that have helped me this week and I will see again next week with a particularly difficult Question of the Month and the IWSG.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
“I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content…I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:11b, 13 (KJV)

  1. Sorry you lost your blog post idea.
Glad you signed up for the Challenge. I finally picked my theme two weeks ago. Going a little simpler this year.

    1. I don't know if I could say my theme is simple, it involves quite a bit of internet searching. Once I find everything, it will be easy to get the posts ready...I hope...

  2. I write brilliant blog posts in my head in the middle of the night when I wake up and then I promptly forget them by morning's time :) Sounds like its been a stressful time for you; hope it settles back down over time.

I did sign up for A/Z; looking forward to it. I had insomnia that night so I was on the computer a little after 4 a.m. my time. Saw the sign up list was available so signed up; got in the top 50 :)

    1. Thanks Betty, I hope things settle down too. I think my schedule should flow a little better the next couple of weeks.

I have also written many great posts and stories in my head in the middle of the night and I never remember it all.

  3. Way to go in getting signed up for the challenge. Most days I feel like I'm holding it together by a bare thread. Such is life, eh? As long as we keep mending what's torn, we're on the right path.

    1. Thanks Chrys! January has been strange for me, being sick then stressed at work throughout the month has actually made this month feel longer than normal.

  5. I have started carrying a very small little journal in my purse so that I can write thoughts down before I forget them because by the time I get in front of my laptop, I've forgotten half of it!! There's just so much going on in our world and in my head so it's helping.

Congrats for signing up for the challenge. I look forward to reading your posts.

    1. Thanks Barb! A small journal in my purse does sound like a good idea, I got one in my stocking for Christmas this year, guess I should use it :)

  7. On the topic of considering voice recording your ideas on your phone: it's not something I would normally consider. Nothing against it, just too dull to have thought of doing it. Then I heard one of Joanna Penn's podcasts with author Elie Casey who not only dictates like a boss, she then uses Dragon to transcribe. I believe during the interview she has no problem getting 10k words 'written' a day and publishes about every six weeks. Holy cow that's all I needed to hear. Now if only to get Siri to stop talking to Cookie Monster every time the new iPhone commercial runs . . .

oh and btw link to podcast http://www.thecreativepenn.com/2016/01/25/writing-business-dictation-elle-casey/
