Throwback Thursday: Pets

I don't know about you, but June seemed like it just disappeared and July isn't looking much better since we are already about half-way through the month. Wal-Mart put out it's back-to-school displays on July 2nd or 3rd, and I'm not currently going to school or teaching at a school and that sight still makes me feel squeamish! I'm still trying to work on that whole time/balance thing with work, church, writing, blogging, etc. and I have been absent from online communities a lot lately. I think I forgot how quick and busy summers can get! And the internet around the lake community I live in can get really slow at times, but thankfully it seems to be working ok at the moment. So maybe these pictures will upload quickly. Without further ado, here are some older pictures of my cats and some gone but not forgotten pets.

Kitty was fairly content as a solo cat

But, she seemed happy to gain a new friend in Sawyer

Even though Sawyer was quite the mischief-maker!

This was Zoe playing with her favorite ball

I miss her so much!

These were Zazzles (black) and Link (orange), they were indoor/outdoor brothers who made a great addition to the clowder (group of cats) for a short time

And finally, here's Sophie as a kitten right after hearing the vacuum for the first time :)

  1. Zoe was a cute pup.
Sawyer literally climbed the walls, didn't he?
Considering how many schools are year-round now, I'm surprised we still have a back-to-school season. Although the beginning of July seems a touch early.

    1. Alex, beginning of July is too early, we had not even celebrated Independence Day yet and they cleared out the BBQ supplies to make room for storage containers.

After snapping that picture, Sawyer was not allowed to climb the walls anymore :)

  2. You can see Sophie's fur standing up! They sure don't like the vacuum cleaner! Zoe was so cute!

I noticed the first part of July the stores started clearing out summer and putting in back to school aisles. School starts here August 8th; seems weird to go back that early; we always went back after Labor Day. Summer is flying by indeed!

    1. Betty, none of my cats like the vacuum cleaner, although I have heard of cats who do. And yes, Zoe was a cutie :)

It seems like schools start earlier and earlier. When I lived in AZ, we started around the last week of August. When I first moved to OK, it was around the 15th-20th. And now, it's early August!

  3. I'm with you about the back to school stuff. I have been out f that for so long but school ending still makes me feel great and the back to school stuff still makes me shudder. I am loving your cat pictures and your doggie. I miss my Katie very much. Right now we are at my hubby's aunt's place and we miss our animals

    1. Birgit, I miss my animals when I'm away from home, too. For me, the back to school stuff just refreshes sad memories of the end of summer vacation.

  4. I seem to recall that Target has it's really big back to school sale around my birthday. So, we've got a couple weeks for that, yet. Although, we're almost to the point where the crafting stores put out their Christmas wares.

    1. Liz, I saw Christmas stuff in a crafting store a couple weeks. By mid-August, Halloween will probably take over. I agree with something a coworker of mine said, "Can't we just celebrate and finish one holiday at a time?"

  5. I think pet pictures are the way to win the Internet. Yes, time is passing WAAAAAAY too quickly. Can't we just ask it to slow down just a bit? Please?

    1. Loni, Yes, I need a good slow down for a while. I'm so tired of rushing from one thing to the next and still having an endless list of things to do. I'm glad I have my pets to help calm me. Pets could easily take over the internet :)
